Black Mirror Special: White Christmas

Rafe Spall and Jon Hamm are magnificent in this hugely ambitious, multi-stranded tale that remains the best of Charlie Brooker’s anthology series, ten years after it was first shown. They both inhabit a small cabin, regaling each other with tales of their past, connected by the “Z-Eyes” tech that replaced mobile phones; implants that record everything we see and hear. However, the stories, and the two men telling them, are more connected the more the tales continue….

As I write this I'm finding it incredible that this episode is now ten years old. It's much longer than most Black Mirror tales, yet is perfectly paced and performed. It might not have much Christmas cheer, but you'll never listen to Wizzard in the same light ever again.
